November 08 Exquisite!Hey Marge! How wonderful! I love it. We had our first snow three weeks ago. Followed by the most georgous Autumn weather. I love all of it so much. I really am a Autumn girl, but I'll even take Winter over the heat of Summer. How are you? Annette and I are very excited to have opened our new treatment centre for Breast Cancer Postoperative Therapy. We are getting an incredible welcome from the Cancer community we live in. Women suffer so much after Cancer related surgical procedures and are left out in the "cold". I love what we are doing. Catch me up on you, Doris Quote http://gi90tw.blu.livefilestore.com/y1pA_i--N7BCI93A5r0VGdf4dRX9Gs52sJylKDGBEpDV0GPsPn61kbpRaHUSkl71JnRUmlwM4IuTdQ October 14 Touch!!!I Am So Excited... I'm Setting Up Shop Again!!!
Three weeks ago my business partner and I decided to put our shingle back up! We are very much excited about it because it's going to be a little different than it was in our past practice, Neuromuscular Therapy and Pain Relief Clinic. We are going to be specifically treating women (and men) who have had Breast Cancer related surgeries. It's an area that is in great need and not commonly addressed or treated by most Surgeons or Cancer Treatment Centers.
We have named our new practice here in Abingdon, Virginia...Breast Cancer Postoperative Therapy Centre.
We will be treating women in our own city as well as getting the word out in surrounding counties that we are available professionally to provide therapy postoperatively to reduce scar tissue, prevent adhesions, increase range of motion and strength of the upper body.
This is the flyer I wrote we will be circulating to our local Cancer Treatment Center here and to surrounding Centers. I'd like to let my Friends know about this to get your feedback. We also will be seeking volenteers from our therapy sessions, who would be willing to be a part of an Instructional DVD we will be filming on which we will show detailed Self Massage techiniques to be used at home to expedite the healing process as well as help a women to except her "changed" body and show it love and give self nurturing touch which will help her heal mentally, emotionally and spiritually as well.
Please let me know what you think! Here's the flyer.

July 02 You are the Master of Your FateYou Are “The Master of Your Fate, the Captain of Your Soul” When the English poet W.C. Henley wrote the prophetic lines, “I am the Master of my Fate, I am the Captain of my Soul,” he should have informed us that the reason we are the Masters of our Fate, the Captains of our Souls is because we have the power to control our thoughts. He should have told us that the ether in which this little planet floats, in which we move and have our being, is a form of energy moving at an inconceivably high rate of vibration, and that the ether is filled with a form of universal power which adapts itself to the nature of the thoughts we hold in our minds, and influences us, in natural ways, to transmute our thoughts into their physical equivalent. If the poet had told us of this great truth, we would know why it is that we are the Masters of our Fate, the Captains of our Souls. He should have told us, with great emphasis, that this power makes no attempt to discriminate between destructive and constructive thoughts, that it will urge us to translate into physical reality thoughts of poverty just as quickly as it will influence us to act upon thoughts of riches. He should have told us, too, that our brains become magnetized with the dominating thoughts we hold in our minds. By means with which no one is familiar, these “magnets” attract to us the forces, the people, the circumstances of life which harmonize with the nature of our dominating thoughts. But being a poet, and not a philosopher, Henley contented himself by stating a great truth in poetic form, leaving those who followed him to interpret the philosophical meaning of his lines. Napoleon Hill Think and Grow Rich This morning I was thinking about a question my new friend Nancy asked me as to how I know I’m on the path I should be on in my Life today. My answer made me think of the above poem referenced by Napoleon Hill. You see, as I told Nancy, I had to reprogram some of the teaching my parents had placed into my head as a child, as to how we are meant to view our lives and groom our expectations of Life. I was taught as a small child that, “God has everything under control in your Life.” That would lead one to believe that we pretty much just sail along in Life and what ever happens…happens. Quite the opposite, I now believe to be the Truth, is that we were created with a Free Will. Therefore, in my thinking, we are responsible for the outcome in our lives on a daily basis for the most part in that we are 100% in charge of our own brain and the choices we make in each day. Some of the choices we make will be the right choices, some will be the wrong choices. Some choices will be healthy choices and some will be unhealthy ones. There is however a Law, I believe to be just as concrete as the Law of Gravity and effects our lives daily just as much. It is the Law of “Reaping and Sowing.” Just like the Law of Gravity, “What goes up, must come down,” every choice we make in any given day has its rewards or it repercussions. I spent so much of the first 40 years of my Life thinking, or should I say “believing wrongly,” that my Life was predestined to be a certain way, meaning I had little control of its course. What a total contradiction is that to those of those of us who were taught that we possess such a marvelous thing as a Free Will , if with that divinely given right doesn’t also come with it, the RESPONSIBILITY to use it wisely? So… in fact…who is in control of my Life today? Doris La Vere June 28 The Body and TouchThe Body is Like a Sponge Through memory cell it absorbs everything that is our life. The good the bad and the ugly are stored in skin, muscle, nerves, fascia, bone and our psyche.
A person is in a car accident, gives birth to a child, slips and falls on a wet floor or stairway, is the victim of abuse, molestation, has surgery and the everyday stressors of life, job, relationships and responsibilities, etc. All are absorbed by the body and stored.
Memory may be stored in one particular area or region of the body which may have been specifically impacted by an outside trauma be it person, place, thing or event. However the entire body is usually affected.
Through the manual manipulation of soft tissue, technique being Massage, negative and painful memory cell can be removed, cleansed and replaced by the good and positive memory of the safe and appropriate touch of Massage.
Relief in various forms and to different degrees will take place initially during the first session and over time in full, if the damage done was not permanent. The body responds well to this type of therapy.
A person can hold and store trauma suffered from infancy, childhood, adolescence and into adulthood. Stored pain or discomfort may even result in structural deformity. It has been scientifically proven that many ailments, sickness and specific diseases can be caused by stored feelings in the body.
Being that almost everyone at some point or time in their life was affected by and stored some type of trauma, everyone should provide their self the opportunity to experience the internal house cleaning of Therapeutic Massage on at least one occasion to start. Great benefit is received long term if a person would experience Massage on a routine basis of at least once a month.
Most people, even skeptics, find that once they have allowed a professional Massage Therapist to treat them, the releases and benefits they receive are remarkable and they continue with such treatments. Massage Therapy quite often comes to play as invaluable role in their routine health maintenance regime.
